The Running Fast is a collection of blogs about my journey from 131 to 13.1, an attempt to run my first half-marathon and raise money for Samaritan's Purse. I have learned so much about myself from running, from the discipline, from the training, from the motivation it takes to persevere through tough times. I failed in my attempt to run the race, sidetracked by a move to Texas and the frustration of falling behind. Yet, this experience for me was much more than running. It was a tangible way to continue the lessons I learned in Nicaragua, my first international mission trip. It is so easy to come home and go back to life as "normal," but I wanted to find a way to continue to help, to serve, and to care about those around the world in need. Samaritan's Purse is an organization that makes a difference with sustainable solutions, bringing the love of Christ in tangible ways to people and communities around the world.
